2010 Elections Again...the week ahead...and a look to the next week as well..

Sat, Oct 2 The Cape St. Claire Improvement Association, in cooperation with the Broadneck Council of Communities and the Arnold Preservation Council, will host a General Election Candidates Forum at the Cape St. Claire Clubhouse. Doors will open at 6:45 PM and the forum will begin at 7:00 PM. The Clubhouse is located at 1223 River Bay Road. The Broadneck Council is an umbrella group representing the communities of Amberley, Pendennis Mount, Atlantis, and Homewood Landing and the Arnold Preservation Council, represents the growth and environmental concerns of communities at the western end of the Broadneck. Oct 5, Paul Rudolph, Democratic candidate for County Council in District 5, and Alan Friedman, director of government relations for Anne Arundel County, will be the guest speakers at this month's Anne Arundel Senior Republican Club meeting.2 p.m.,North County Area library branch, 1010 Eastway in Glen Burnie. The meeting is open to the public, and members of all political parties are invited to attend. Refreshments will be served.

Oct 5th Md Hall Auditorium 7-9 p.m Candidate's Forum sponsored by Ward One Residents Association and The Eastport Civic Association. The debate will be for senate candidates- Astle and Elfenbein, - they will get 1/2 hour and then the delegate candidates- Busch, Clagett , Legum, and George, McMillan and Seth Howard. Moderator is Chris Nelson, president of St Johns College.

Tuesday, October 5th Joanna Conti For County Executive...BULL AND OYSTER ROAST on from 6:30 – 9:00 p.m. This event will be held in the Thurgood Marshall Ballroom of the BWI Hilton, 1739 West Nursery Road, Linthicum. Wednesday, Oct 6 Republican Breakfast Club, 7:30 a.m. at The Rockfish restaurant, 400 Sixth St., features Republican Seth Howard, a candidate for delegate in District 30.
Wednesday, Oct 6 Democratic County Council candidate Torrey Jacobsen, Steve Thibodeau, chairman of the Anne Arundel County Democratic Central Committee, and Mike Souder, the central committee's political director will be the guest speakers at the South County Democratic Club's monthly meeting. Optional dinner begins at 6 p.m. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at Pirate's Cove Restaurant, 4817 Riverside Drive in Galesville. It will be co-sponsored by AARP. The forum will take place at Queen Anne's High School at 125 Ruthsburg Road Centreville MD on October 17, Sunday from 2PM to 4PM. The moderator will be Dan Premo.

Monday, October 18  The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) 10th annual John V. Kabler Memorial Award Event will be in Annapolis. Mike Busch, Speaker of the Maryland House of Delegates from the Annapolis-area District 30, will be the award recipient. The LCV says that "this will be an energized gathering of 250 elected officials and conservation-minded leaders from across the state coming together to support Maryland LCV's critical work." (I am trying to confirm the below information, but if it is correct, it would been an egregious mistake on the part of the Severn River Association to have scheduled this at the same time as the above event....It makes no sense...)
