All in the family

Apparently, the younger brother of a convicted murderer is following the same path. Arrested for car-jacking and sentenced to 5 years (all but a few months suspended--HELLO THERE JUDGES) he has been re-arrested on a drug violation, as well as failing to report to his probation officer. The kid has the gall to tell the judge that he is a "good person"!

The kid is NOT a good person. The kid carjacked and caught a break, and now he is throwing that break right in the face of the judiciary that convicted him. Even with this re-arrest, it looks like the Judge--Ron Silkworth will not impose the full original 5-year sentence. Why the hell not?

Some of the comments..the carjacking was different because no one was killed (yet), the kid has been taking drugs for "stress", his mom says he does not deserve to be locked up, and this one--a direct quote from the accused “I’m not a bad person and I respect everyone,” Mr. Tolbert said in court. There needs to be an asterisk on that one.. *except when I come across someone I don't like or is in my "hood" and I feel like carjacking them, and doing drugs--then I am a bad person and I respect no one!

Here is the article from today's Capital Gazette 2-11-2006
