More questionable sentences

OK, we are getting better. A while back, I wrote about a guy who was previously charged with child molestation, and was re-arrested with a "hit list" of kids in elementary school. Well today, The Capital in Annapolis is reporting that Judge Philip T. Caroom sentenced him to 5 1/2 years of "house arrest" and told him to stay away from kids.

Isn't that a bit like telling a fat man to steer clear of the Twinkies?

But, this sentence is moving ever so slightly in the correct direction. Had this man been sentenced under Judge Manck, I fear he may have been doing community service at Chuckie Cheese! Remember, Judge Manck was feeling benevolent towards a man that abused his nieces and daughter for many years and gave him a 4 month sentence with the ability to carry on his real estate career by leaving jail to work!

And, while I am on Judge Manck, I was looking at some past postings and noticed that I complimented him on a sentence for an attempted rape. The police botched the evidence and he went OUTSIDE the guidelines for this one. But clearly when the child from Severna Park was involved he went WAY under the guidelines. Maybe the medicine he is taking needs to be adjusted.
