American Contemporary Gallery.....RUMINATING With Art

"Ruminating" by Ellen Murray is one of my favorites in the upcoming show "Works on Paper" January 9 through 31 at The American Contemporary Gallery at 1851 McGuckian Street in Annapolis. The opening party is this Friday evening, January 9. As readers know, CP is quite taken by this new addition to the local art scene, where we have otherwise become complacently sedated with seagulls, sailing ships and summery scenes. That's not all bad of course, and I like sailboats and summer and seagulls (pardon me, but do you have gray poop on?) but what about the amazing work that is happening NOW--as in contemporary art? Owner John Bodkin of the ACG tells CP his gallery has been reviewed in The New York Times and Art News--and that's no small feat for a gallery.

CP is pleased to support the local arts community and would like to share this note from the ACG with you:

Paul,

Thanks for the mention and pictures of the gallery on your blog. I don’t know if you are aware of it but it resulted in 277 people visiting the gallery website. Thanks very much!
