Results of Mayoral Poll...My Crystal Ball is.....Fuzzy

Results to the Upper Left....Wow---this was our biggest poll ever! This was NOT a scientific poll but it might show us a thing or two about the current strength and activities of the campaigns. It shows that over 450 people read and are interested in Capital Punishment and that Trudy McFall, Gil Renaut and Zina Pierre were able to strongly rally their supporters to vote. McFall and Renaut started off strong and then Pierre evened things up and in the end edged out McFall--until the final few minutes when McFall retook the lead--what the heck was going on there? It was down to the wire and a lot of votes came within the last hour--mainly going to the top three??????. Renaut came in second place. Yes they told tell their supporters to vote, but so could every other candidate and they apparently did not--or did they? What would you have done if you were a candidate?

We don't know if the voters are registered or even likely voters in Annapolis although as usual, most visitors had Annapolis internet addresses. We can make a few assumptions:

Wayne Taylor reads CP (he got one vote).
Frank Flyntz, who we still cannot even confirm is actually running, probably reads CP (he got two votes--on the last day of the poll and his final third in the last hour).
Six readers are unsure or will vote for someone else--go get 'em!
There are a lot more Democrats than there are Republicans (probably) and more than Independents...(maybe???)

At least I can make one verifiable and possibly accurate determination. This was the first public poll conducted and reported on for the 2009 mayoral campaign. If it were a scientifically valid, randomized survey, a sample of 400 registered voters would be more than sufficient to get an acceptable margin of error.

Readers may draw their own conclusions, but at least this has been fun. We'll do this again before the primary when perhaps the field will have narrowed somewhat. In the meantime, thanks for voting and please send ideas for future polls...and vote early, and vote often...(which many probably just did...). In case you are wondering, I did not vote, but if I did, the votes would now be up to thousands...
