I was unable to attend Alderman Dick Israel's fundraiser Sunday evening but his campaign aide Jan Hardesty (thanks!) reports that "Dick made a special point of advocating the City Manager form of government, introducing Bill Kardash, and encouraging everyone to sign available petitions. Ringing endorsement by Speaker Busch and good attendance by City Council. (only Mayor, Aldermen Cordle, and Stankivic were absent. ) Several mayoral candidates (Renaut, Cohen, McFall, Shropshire) were there, as was former Mayor Dean Johnson." ......
