Gone Bush In The Bushes...All On Compromise Street

I just had to re-broadcast this one from our police reports which shows I have a real "flare" for reporting......:

"Burglary (Friday, July 24, 2009, 2:50am) – Officers were called to a Yacht Basin on the first block of Compromise Street for a burglary that had just happened on a boat docked in the basin. The victims reported that they were awakened by the sound of someone moving around on the boat. One of the victims chased the suspect off the boat and was able to give police a description of a thin Caucasian male, about 5’8”- 5’10” tall wearing a black v necked shirt and dark jeans. While checking the area surrounding the boat, officers located a suspect in the bushes. The suspect was naked when he emerged from the bushes, but officers found wet clothes in the bushes matching the description given by the victim. The suspect was arrested and charged with 1st, 3rd and 4th degree burglary and theft. "

I guess the guy jumped and swam for it. Had he done this in a swimsuit and stayed in the water, he might have escaped, but what could he have taken with him? What did he end up taking to have been arrested for burglary and theft?

I say good for the victim and the police, who acted quickly and made an arrest. Note to criminals--try to choose a boat that is unoccupied and beware, as many boat owners will appear with a firearm, flashlight and a club (I don't mean a yacht club...) and are likely to shoot first and then call police. If they have a flare gun handy, which most boaters do, the simple pull of the trigger will project a fiery mass of molten phosphorus and magnesium burning for 6-8 seconds at 1800 to 2000 degrees--and can't be easily doused. A quick and fiery introduction to the next place you're sure to be going.

On the other hand, had it been one of Bernie Madoff's yachts...
