Last night's HACA-sponsored forum was clear about at least one thing--public housing is now on the big radar screen--which of course is where it always should have been. I'll post a piece about this later if I can't spend the day suntanning...but a few thoughts for now:
Republican candidate Frank Flyntz was a no-show.....his web-site will not even load...(It is loading now but still NO updates...) he removed the two giant signs from his pickup truck....
Ward Six Aldermanic candidate Kenny Kirby attended---but he arrived at 7:10 and the event started at 6:30. Funny thing huh? I mean, that is his ward and he supposedly has a background and interest in public housing. His rival, Greg Stiverson was there for the whole evening. Kirby is making a habit of showing up late--or not at all and of otherwise being a bit mysterious.
Dave Cordle's literature now says he is the candidate of change. Okay.
New candidate for mayor, Laurie Sears Deppa was there and seemed articulate and able to think and respond quickly and clearly...even though she said she did not know about the forum until two hours previously....Hey Laurie---this is why you have to read Capital Punishment....
Chris Fox is not afraid to speak his mind....even when saying what might be unpopular in front of a particular audience....
I gotta run off to Sip N Blog...see you there....CP
