Although I publicized "Pip and Zastrow" when it first came out, I missed the big public screening. Fortunately Alderman Ross Arnett lent me his copy and I watched it with my family--intently. Having known of and met Pip and Zastrow many times over the years made the film all the more exciting. Being a long-time resident of Annapolis made the movie all the more interesting and enjoyable, but beyond that, I remember the excitement of the times, and I clearly remember when Washington and other cities were almost war zones as rioting broke out in 1968. But the story of why ANNAPOLIS was spared--a situation around which much of the story revolves--is a story of great import today as we continue to work through our lingering legacy of racism. Oh-- and if you want to know what happened with Pip's former wife, MAYOR ELLEN O and the vacuum cleaner pipe....well, you'll have to watch the movie....For more information visit www.pipandzastrow.com/ and see the trailer at www.pipandzastrow.com/trailer.htm
