2010 Elections Again

2010 Elections Again.....Raising Kane? Turning Brown?  CP has opined before that the job of Maryland's Lieutenant Governor is pretty much a "where's the beef?" position. In the case of Bob Ehrlich's runing mate Mary Kane, does she brings anything more than the demographic fact that she is a woman from Montgomery County which is Martin O'Malley's home turf? In the case of Michael Steele, the job was just a stepping stone to run for Senate and then to become the most combative, foot-in-mouth-inserting, beleaguered head of a major political party in decades (He makes Howard Dean look and smell like a bed of roses). As for Kane, we might also be asking what did she do as the former Maryland Secretary of State? Well, not a whole lot if you are a cynic who sees it pretty much as a plum job for a political supporter. Of course the job entails some important and some perhaps not-so-important functions such as overseeing charities, condominium registrations and the state's sister states program and you can learn more at http://www.sos.state.md.us/  Len Lazarick in MarylandReporter explains how the job is pretty much what the governor wants it to be. http://marylandreporter.com/page5501157.aspx
