The MD League of Conservation Voters asks you to SAVE THE DATE for the 2010 John V. Kabler Memorial Award Event on Monday, October 18, 2010. Since 2001, the John V. Kabler Memorial Award has been presented annually to recognize Maryland’s most outstanding conservation leaders. This premier event for the Maryland League of Conservation Voters attracts over 250 environmental and political leaders from across the state.

This year we are pleased to present the John V. Kabler Award to Mike Busch, Speaker of the House of Delegates. For 24 years, he has been a powerful leader and dedicated advocate for the environment in Maryland.

When: Monday, October 18, 2010, 6:30 p.m. - 9 p.m.

Where: The Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium N* Banquet Room, Annapolis, Maryland

Why: With the general election just two weeks away, the room will be charged with energy and commitment to make the environment a priority. With over 30 years of experience fighting to elect good environmental candidates and holding legislators accountable, Maryland LCV will use your donation NOW to:
• Help elect a Pro-Conservation General Assembly, Governor, Comptroller, and Attorney General by activating environmental voters!
• Ensure the passage of a strong environmental policy agenda in 2011 that addresses the polluted Chesapeake Bay and waterways, the importance of transportation choices and the impact of growth, and ensures we move toward a clean energy economy.
• Expand and engage our grassroots network in areas of the state where we need to raise the Maryland LCV environmental scores of legislators.
