The Green Book
produced by Bonnie Nelson Schwartz of Annapolis. September 15, 6:30 PM reception and 7:45 performance
Tickets: $15.00 - 25.00
Not long ago, if you were an African-American and decided to take a road trip in this country, you made sure to carry a travel guide called "The Negro Motorist Green Book". This play tells the enthralling story of a Holocaust survivor and an African-American salesman, and how their lives intersect in 1950s America. The Green Book is the first in "Backstage at the Lincoln," a series of play readings dealing with contemporary and historic issues in "melting pot" American life. The audience will join the actors on-stage for the reading, a "behind the scenes" theatre experience.
Featuring special guest reader, Julian Bond, Chairman of the NAACP Emeritus.
