Murder Follow Up

The police are being tight lipped on the recent murder. It also seems that the woman involved is recovering but they are not releasing her name for fear of her safety.

It has been speculated that this might be a gang shooting. So is this where we are now? What are your thoughts?

Another City Murder

This just in. Annapolis has just suffered its 7th murder of the year.  After an all to brief lull, the bullets are out again with deadly force.

On September 13th at approximately 12:30 AM, Annapolis Police Dispatch received reports of shots fired in the area of Janwall Street and Tyler Avenue.


Officers found two occupants of a car, a male and a female, who were suffering from gunshot wounds. The male was pronounced dead on the scene. The female was taken to Shock - Trauma in Baltimore and was last known to be in critical but stable condition.


There is no motive or suspect information available at this time. The names of the victims are being withheld pending family notifications and a suitable time of adjustment. Further information will be released as is appropriate and available.

What Good Is A Protective Order?

Protective Orders are supposed to protect citizens from harm. But lately there has been a spate of useless orders. Just yesterday, a man rammed his pick up truck into his ex-girlfriend nearly killing her and critically injuring a little boy she was babysitting.

The Protective Order had been issued that morning.

I am not sure what can be done, because they are only as effective as the person is honest. What is the answer?

I realize that all cases are different, but if someone has done something that necessitates a Protective Order, there is a good chance the person has done something illegal--threatened someone, trespassed, robbed, etc. Perhaps the answer is to require the person seeking the order to file charges and have the person attend a hearing to see if detention is in order.

I have no idea how many are issued each day, but perhaps a phone call or a cruise by fro the police might be in order--just to see how things are going.

And to the judge that gets this case, there can be no extenuating circumstances here! We hope the little boy recovers!

This Is Bullcrap!

Nancy Davis-Loomis--shame on you!  A 17-year old girl (Megan Patria) hides her pregnancy, gives birth, throws the baby in a dumpster and catches a break being tried as a juvenile. She is sentenced to a juvenile facility until she is 21. That is her break.



So, after 8 months, someone at the facility feels that she is rehabilitated and Judge Davis-Loomis releases her!  After 8 months!!  The judge says that the purpose is to rehabilitate and not punish. Who the hell said the two were mutually exclusive?  I am glad the girl is rehabilitated. And I really do not think she was ever a "threat to society"; but that does not negate the fact that she killed her baby!  Yes, she needs to be punished!  She caught a break and now she does not even have to serve the complete sentence.



Yes, there was a precedent in a similar case, but you try a case on its own merits and not that of another. So what's next judge Davis-Loomis? I tell you, if I ever fall on the wrong side of the law, I want you. Do you take requests?

Suspected Murderer Caught

Good news! A man currently in jail in PG County has been identified as the shooter who killed Michael Lee Thompson on Pleasant Street in May 2008!

Once the paperwork is complete, Deonte Desmund Boyd will be headed back here for trial. Notice to the judges....please take this seriously! Here is the police report:

After an extensive investigation, the shooter in this case has been identified as Deonte Desmund Boyd, 24, with a last known address of 3739 St. Margaret Street in Brooklyn, MD. A warrant has been issued charging Deonte Boyd with the Murder of Michael Lee Thompson, Sr. Specifically, he is charged with First Degree Murder, Use of a Handgun In The Commission of a Felony, General Unlawful Carrying of a Handgun, Second Degree Murder, and Reckless Endangerment. He is currently incarcerated in Prince George*s County after recently being arrested in that jurisdiction for Drug Possession. A detainer for the Murder and associated charges has been lodged with Prince Georges County. When protocol is established, it is expected that he will be returned to Anne Arundel County and formally served with the Murder and associated charges.

The identification of Deonte Boyd as the shooter is based on multiple witness accounts of different facets of the event.

Some Good News And Some Bad

Well, it seems there has been some good news on the crime front lately.

At least one judge is getting serious and sentenced a woman to 30 years for killing her boyfriend and then setting him on fire. Pretty gruesome stuff! This is a far cry from some of the other rulings by Judge North. But it is unclear is she was the same Judge that allowed the woman's son (and accomplice) to cop a plea for time served.

Drugs are the gateway to crime. Apparently working for 23 years for the Federal Government does not provide enough to live on (maybe some Club Fed worker can guess the pay grade for me) that they resort to dealing crack. Catch spies by day, and deal crack by night. Lorna Hommel was convicted of selling crack to undercover officers and Judge Hackner sentenced her to 18 months in prison, but then changed his mind and suspended the ENTIRE sentence! So it appears that she may have spent one night in jail when she was originally arrested. Yes, she is unemployed, but you tell me...does crime pay? Seems like it might.

If you are selling crack, you are likely using it. Doesn't NSA have a drug testing policy? Wonder how that slipped through the cracks?
