Mayor Announces Public Meetings on Market House

(The following is a news release from the Mayor)

Mayor Joshua J. Cohen announces two rounds of meetings in November to keep the public informed about the City’s Market House negotiations with Gone to Market LLC and offer opportunities for citizens to provide input to the City and the developers.


On Monday, Nov. 8 and Monday, Nov. 15, representatives from Gone to Market, including the group’s principal, Lehr Jackson, will make late-afternoon presentations to the Economic Matters Committee in City Council Chambers. Later in the evening on Nov. 8 and Nov. 15, separate open houses will be held at the Market House in which the public will be invited to view renderings for the proposed renovation, offer input and get feedback from Mr. Jackson and his team along with Mayor Cohen and other City officials.

"We are following an ambitious timeline to renovate and re-open the Market House by next April," Mayor Cohen said. "As part of this process, the City Council and I want to make sure that our community is engaged and has an opportunity to provide feedback and suggestions as Gone to Market develops and refines its plans."

Below is the detailed schedule of events:

Monday, Nov. 8

§       4:30-5:30 p.m. -- Presentation by Mr. Jackson to the Ecomonic Matters Committee
§       5:30-6 p.m. -- Q&A with the committee
§       6-6:30 p.m. -- Council walk-through at the Market House
§       6:30-7:30 p.m. -- Open house at the Market House, starting with a presentation by Mr. Jackson

Monday, Nov. 15

§       5-6 p.m. -- Presentation by Mr. Jackson to the Economic Matters Committee
§       7-8 p.m. -- Open House at the Market House, starting with a presentation by Mr. Jackson

Note: Both meetings of the Economic Matters Committee will be televised live on City TV (Verizon Channel 34 and Comcast Channel 99/100), and the recorded broadcast will be made available on the City’s website, www.annapolis.gov.
