REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION….CP’s PET PROJECT

If you are interested in transportation and you like committees and more committees, then this is for you! The long-range transportation plan for the Baltimore region has been released in draft form. "Transportation Outlook 2035" serves as a blueprint for the Baltimore area by identifying the ways the region plans to invest in the transportation system over the next few decades. Annapolis and Anne Arundel County are part of the Baltimore region.
CP reserves comment as to whether or not these plans and meetings mean a thing, do a thing, or change a thing. After all, real transportation decisions are made and have always been made by road builders, pocket-lining politicians and auto and gasoline companies.
However, a public comment period on the draft "Transportation Outlook 2035" will be held through August 29, 2007.The draft "Transportation Outlook 2035" can be downloaded at:http://www.baltometro.org/content/view/566/401 and will be presented at a public meeting on: July 25, 2007 (Wednesday)Doors open 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Presentations at 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.Heritage Office Complex, 2nd Floor2664 Riva Rd.
ONE MAJOR ISSUE ANNAPOLIS AREA RESIDENTS CAN WORK ON IS DEMANDING THAT THE MTA REINSTATE THE BALTIMORE/ANNAPOLIS EXPRESS COMMUTER ROUTE…cut by then Gov. Ehrlich…we desperately need the 210...the state capital and state’s major city need to be re-connected…!!!
So, you may find this public meeting to be of interest. You can take Annapolis Transit’s Green bus there (until 7) or the Brown Bus (until 10) walk or ride your bike if you can deal with Riva Road. Otherwise…drive! After all, that’s what we’re supposed to do…drive!
