Carjackings and Gasjackings

Not only are we seeing a rash of carjackings like this one we discussed a while ago, but now we hear of another one where the culprits punch a pregnant woman in the stomach to get the car. WTF? It seems this recent rash is occuring in Glen Burnie and Brooklyn Park!  Chief Teare...can you hear me now?  Maybe your Northern Division ought to step up their presence a little...ya think?

With gasoline now firmly over $4 a gallon, we are hearing all sorts of weird news. The lady in Kentucky who sold sex for a prepaid gas card was on the national news. And here in Pasadena, an Exxon station  has admitted that they have faulty pumps that overcharge the customer. The Weights and Measuring Program at the Department of Agriculture only calibrates the pumps every 18 months to two years! Well, with an unscrupulous operator and a good location, that might add lot of change to the owner's pockets. While it is difficult to tell if the pump is pumping air, you can check to make sure you are being charged correctly. Pump your gas and stop at 10 gallons. Note the dollar amount and it should be 10 times the per gallon price.

It's bad enough that we have to watch out for our personal safety, now we have gas stations ripping us off!
