Free Concerts--Part of Public Life

The other night CP joined many hundreds of folks at City Dock to hear the Naval Academy Band perform. The weather was nice, the scenery was pleasant and of course we recognize that Susan Campbell Park (aka City Dock) has been rebuilt thanks to public efforts. (I was rather shocked at the poor condition of the boardwalk by Fawcetts across from Ego Alley)Sometimes CP goes to the concerts at AA County's Quiet Waters Park on Saturday nights as well. These are some of the many pleasures of living in Annapolis. Every community should have free outdoor concerts in public spaces. Let us not forget that these are PUBLIC events, in PUBLIC places, paid for by PUBLIC taxes by and for the PUBLIC. Now, if only we could get everyone to walk, ride bikes or take buses to these events....our town would be like Pepperland from "Yellow Submarine."

I did notice that a handful of privately run vans from the nearby senior living communities haul their residents (mainly from the county)to the concerts but I've never seen them at Quiet Waters, which is a county park. Accessibility issues?
