Annapolis Capital Punishment

In an upcoming post, I will tell you how a driver who had smoked PCP, nearly killed my wife and son-but he did wreck our car. In today's neighborhood crime watch we learn of a serious police chase in our city yesterday that resulted in a big jam on Aris T Allen Blvd. That was all we knew until we read the crime watch. Here is an excerpt:

This time, he swerved towards an officer on foot, causing that officer to jump out of the away as he narrowly missed being struck. The Ford then left the area with police cars following. He struck a State Police Car twice while fleeing, and drove the wrong way on Rt 665. While doing so, he ran another motorist off the road, causing that driver to strike a tree. The driver of the Ford finally stopped in the 3000 block of Riva Road at his residence. He resisted efforts to get him out of the car and take him into custody. After a struggle, the arrest was effected. Justin Michael Sellman, 21, of Riva Road was charged with First Degree Assault, numerous Traffic Violations, and other related offenses. He appeared to be under the influence of PCP. He is currently being held at the Detention Center in lieu of a One Million Dollar Bond. (08-006864)

It gets worse. It appears that his driving killed a woman and injured her daughter. Who is this offender? CP simply typed his name into Google and got this from danger on four wheels:

Another senseless death and injury of innocent people possibly due to alcohol use.

"It has not been determined if Sellman was under the influence of drugs or alcohol when the collision occurred, police said. The driver behind him before the collision told police the car had been swerving in the road. Police are continuing to investigate."

Surely the 'swerving in the road' wasn't due to alcohol use. I'm sure he must have learned his lesson about that when his Dec06 citation for OPEN CONTAINER IN VEH/ALCOHOL was nol prossed.

Yesterday, this man could have easily killed police officers and other citizens. Let us hope that this time that the intent of our criminal justice system will prevail. Let us also hope the local and the regional newspaper will report more fully on this.
