If you have been in Annapolis for a while, you probably knew or had heard of Sam Gilmer, long-time alderman, who passed away recently. He was a scrappy and tough guy who spoke his mind and served the city and his constituents for many years and we recognize him for that service. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Mount Olive African Methodist Episcopal Church on Hicks Avenue, where he had been a member for 30 years.
