From Wheels in Motion of a Few Days Ago......Another interesting little tidbit. Dawn Moyer, daughter-in-law of the mayor, is now soliciting advertising from the mayoral candidates for the cutesy publication, Taste of the Bay. In an email which CP has received, we find the following:

Subject: feature section in Taste of the Bay for Annapolis Mayoral Candidates
I wanted to let you know that I am running a special section in Tatse (sic--misspelled her own publication) of the Bay Magazine for Annapolis Mayoral candidates only. We are offing (sic--another typo--a Freudian slip?) a full page for $1300 in the July/Aug issue. Candidates can let everyone know why they are running, what they hope to achieve and how they plan to achieve it. This is their platform. They write it and we print it. There will be 100,000 magazines delivered over July and Aug. The placement will be , full pages first and in order of paid contracts recieved (sic) by the publisher. Call me to discuss.

Hmmm....I can guess which campaign is rushing to place its ad! Interesting thing to print 100,000 copies and give out all over Central Maryland while there are only 36,000 residents of Annapolis and far fewer registered voters and even fewer likely to vote--though hopefully not this time! $1300 could go a long way toward a mailer to a large percentage of likely voters...or ads on a blog targeted to Annapolitans....But does the idea of the mayor's daughter-in-law soliciting ads from mayoral candidates not seem, well, a bit weird?
