Help the Eastport Girls’ Club Help Children in Public Housing

CP received this from a neighbor:

"I know you publicize community projects you believe worthy and have mentioned the Eastport Girls’ Club previously in your blog. We want to share with you the news about our summer project as we begin our second year. We are hoping for lots of community involvement so please spread the word to anyone you think may be interested in helping or donating.

In collaboration with the Housing Authority of the City of Annapolis (HACA), and staff from the Eastport Community Center, the Eastport Girls’ Club is seeking donations of money, items or time for the NEW ZONE.

Along with much needed help from community members, our mentoring group will be converting a space in the Eastport Community Center into a multi-purpose room. Once complete, the room will serve as an area for reading, tutoring, homework and counseling, as well as a space for fun and meaningful group activities. When not in use by the EGC, the room will be available for other activities (homework, meetings and special events).

We need painters for half a day on August 1 and also need donations. Please check out link for more details:

Thanks so much,"
