Annapolis Capital Punishment

The following was provided by Mayoral candidate Wayne Taylor in response to questions I posed to him about the report of the police raid of the store listed as his campaign hq and of the related arrest of the man listed as his campaign manager:

That was where my campaign kicked off from because the real location of my campaign office was and still is under renovation. At first the owner and I thought the location just needed some work in order for me to get in, DNEP said different. I was allowed by Darryl Carter to use his address to receive mail instead of my home or a PO Box (bad choice). I met Mr Carter in DC over twenty years ago and we stayed in touch off and on. Sugar Stallings was and still is my campaign manager. She had death in her family and was going thru some things, so she needed a break. Mr Carter was listed until Sugar came back which was last weekend. Sometimes "Timing is not everything."

CP NOTES: In the final analysis this incident may not be terribly important to Taylor's campaign unless he had been perceived as a front-runner. If that were the case, this would likely be taken more seriously as it indicates some serious lapses of judgment. How could a man with a long history in retail management not suspect something was going on? If the "real location" of his campaign office is under renovation this late in the race, one can only wonder when or if it will actually open, but campaign headquarters or not, this event or lack of a headquarters office does not likely change the fundamental lethargy of this campaign so far.
