POLICE CONVENE NEIGHBORHOOD SAFETY COUNCIL MEETING

NEIGHBORHOOD SAFETY COUNCIL MEETING - Tuesday, September 21, 2009 6:30 PM
On 9/21 (Tues) at 6:30 p.m. the Annapolis Police Department will host its first "Neighborhood Safety Council" meeting. The meeting is intended to be a progressive version of our existing Neighborhood Watch meetings -- a long standing successful program.
The APD is improving the way we interact with the citizens of Annapolis and our community partners. To that end we invite citizens, community leaders, civic groups, clergy, business representatives and any other groups who want to make a difference to attend and share your views and ideas.  APD will guide the meetings, initially, sharing information and encouraging community feedback relative to matters of public safety and community interest.  It’s our hope that you, our community partners, will develop a strong interest and all Annapolis communities will attend, participate and provide feed back.  Every other month we will invite guest speakers - professionals - from various fields geared to educate our partners on contemporary matters of law enforcement or public safety.
At this first meeting their will be members from all sections of the APD to answer your questions and address your concerns.  We look forward to your participation and valued input as we move forward with this paradigm shift and a closer working partnership with our many community stakeholders.
Refreshments and Lite Fare will be served.
