Neighborhood Safety Council Meeting Tuesday Night

Neighborhood Safety Council – The Annapolis Police Department is holding a Neighborhood Safety Council meeting on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm at APD Headquarters, 199 Taylor Avenue in Annapolis.
 
These monthly meetings are designed to make community leaders and other citizens aware of the latest trends in personal and community safety through crime updates, agency progress, information exchange and speakers on relevant matters.
 
The planned agenda for this month’s meeting is:
 
18:30---18:50 - Welcome and opening remarks from Chief Michael Pristoop
18:50---19:20 - Introduction of elected officials and brief remarks
19:20---19:30 - Break
19:30---20:00 - Kathy Evans from the Maryland State’s Attorney’s Office will speak on Community Prosecution and Nuisance Abatement; what it is and how it works.
 
20:00---20:30 - The United States Attorney’s Office will explain the role of federal prosecutors in the VOIP and Capital Cities Safe Street Initiative.
 
There will also be an update of the most recent crime statistics in the City of Annapolis and, time permitting, APD Hispanic Liaison Joe Hudson will discuss issues facing the Hispanic community in Annapolis.
