The "Bard of the Bay" Writes "SINCE I GOT TO DIE ANY WAY AND PROBABLY SOON I CAST MY LOT WITH THE ICONOCLAST AND THE FRAY"

The following letter comes to us from Tom Wisner, a well-known figure around the Chesapeake who is often referred to as The Bard of the Bay. Wisner is dying of cancer but he remains a fighter for the Bay. He asked that this letter be posted on CP in response to the recent post by Hward Ernst calling for the resignation of the Bay Foundation's President Will Baker. I first met Tom over 20 years ago and have heard him perform at many different festivals.  He is perhaps best know for his soothing song "Chesapeake Born". We thank Tom for writing in. His letter follows:

WELL ....WHO KNOWS..... IT MAY WELL  BE TIME TO GET OFF OUR ASSES AND JOIN LEAGUE AND REALLY FIGHT

I MEAN REALLY FIGHT FOR THE CREATION............ FOR THE RIGHTS OF THE CREATURES ........FIGHT !

PERHAPS WE ARE PAST THE TIME OF GENTLE AND CONTINUING REVELATION AND COERCION
PERHAPS IT IS TIME TO ENTER INTO CACAPHONY AND TOTAL REVOLUTION
AND STIR THIS WHOLE INSANE DISASTROUS PATH WE'VE BEEN ON TO MAKE SOME SENSE OF IT
I SAY ATTACK FROM ALL QUARTERS FOR AND AGAINST ERNST
RIGHT OR WRONG I SURE IN HELL RALLY TO HIS COURAGE

GOD KNOWS WE AIN'T MADE A WHOLE LOT OF SENSE FOR THE PLANET YET

I KNOW REVOLUTION WILL NOT SOLVE THE REAL PROBLEMS BUT IT MIGHT GET US OFF OUR ASSES
SO AS WE MIGHT MAKE SOME REAL PROGRESS.....I'D LIKE TO BE BACK AT 1950 SO AS I COULD ENLIST IN THIS WAR
INSTEAD OF THOSE DISASTERS WE SERVED IN KOREA....I'D A WHOLE LOT RATHER DIE FOR THIS THAN THAT

SINCE I GOT TO DIE ANY WAY AND PROBABLY SOON I CAST MY LOT WITH THE ICONOCLAST AND THE FRAY

AH THE FRAY!
