The Capital reports that Republican Frank Flyntz actually is running for mayor and is hosting a party tonight at Harry Brown's. Go figure. He's had a web-site up for months, though with no updates, and it says nothing about tonight's event. But it does say he already had a kickoff party last June--as in 2008!!!
I did bring him to Sip N' Blog many months ago but have since never heard from him. I knocked on his door once to ask to see him and left a message but I never heard from him. I reported earlier how he asked Ward Three Candidate Scott Bowling to change the date of his fund-raiser (also tonight) although Bowling's was scheduled and announced first.
I saw him a month ago at a public event and he said he was still a candidate and I asked him to give me updates and stay in touch. I never heard a word.
Oooh the mystery. This is what I wrote on July 7th, 2008, "In the meantime Mr. Frank Flyntz, if you'd like to make your phone number and address available to the public you wish to represent, that would be a step forward. I could not find it on the web-site or in the phonebook."

Dear Frank--If you are reading this, please understand that I can't cover your candidacy if you remain elusive. And by the way, do you have a legitimate committee and a treasurer? The treasurer's name is not on your web-site either. Have you filed? Would you like to be our guest at Sip N' Blog On May 7th? You know how to reach me--but I don't know how to reach you....and if you had told me about your party tonight I might have attended and written about it. I knew of your party last June where you supposedly announced but you would not give me a comp ticket and it is my policy not to support or give to any candidate over another.
