Mayor Cohen Offers Proclamation to CP...Thanks To All Loyal Readers and Supporters!!!!! CP to Take A Break

CP's Holiday Gift to Loyal Readers, Friends and Mayor Cohen:

Last night's party was great fun!!! THANKS SO MUCH to Bay Ridge Wine and Spirits and Grump's Cafe and to everyone who came to CP's Holiday Party...and brought snacks, cards and even gifts--which was an unexpected but most appreciated surprise. It was a way for activists and followers to get together, show some holiday spirit and...some even talked about the latest political gossip--or they made the gossip! Now is your chance to pull a rabbit out of the hat or pull the wool over our heads because CP will be taking a bit of a break, a hiatus (to use a fancy term that sounds like a medical condition or some kind of exotic primate) for a week or two....so now's your chance...when the cat is away the mice will play or some such thing...but I will be listening....

And though he could not attend, Mayor Josh Cohen did provide CP with a proclamation which was read aloud by Alderman Fred Paone at last night's party:

To Paul Foer,                                        12/10/09

In recognition of your tireless dedication to the City of Annapolis, your biting wit and humor, your passion for our community's rich fabric and unique character, and your willingness to speak your mind and to stand up and be counted, I wish you a very happy birthday and a relaxing holiday season

Josh
Thank you Mayor Cohen and rest assured that CP will continue to stand up and be counted! Thank you to loyal readers and friends. Together (and sometimes not...) we all will continue to build and improve our community. I know that there are already grumblings and discontent expressed about some of the actions by the new Cohen Administration. Let's not jump to conclusions. As I now pass my half-century milestone, this does not mean I am suddenly becoming weak or soft, nor am I joining the Republican Party or Chamber of Commerce--and I said the same thing when I turned 30....BUT...I am taking a wait and see attitude. I know there are concerns about the Doug Smith appointment, and the continued involvement of campaign supporters in city government. Were I to come out smoking with arms flailing, it would just make me look worse than I may already appear. Right now I am looking to build bridges and not burn them. When the time comes to burn them or bust them (is that bridges or britches???) I will do so....but not yet. However, we all will remain vigilant. The tone has already changed, but this is about a lot more than tone. Let's give it some time....then we can let loose...if we need to do that. Let me finally lay some rumors to rest--CP is on the Transportation Transition Team to provide my expertise and bold ideas, which I am doing. There will be no rubber-stamping on my part. Second, there has not been any talk about a job for me in the Cohen Administration. So put that idea to rest. I am not interested in a job in city government. I like what I am doing too much...of course a paycheck and befits would be nice too...so while I am on my soapbox, I thank all readers who have made donations to me to continue this work and I INVITE ALL READERS TO VISIT THE PAYPAL ICON ON THIS PAGE AND TO MAKE A DONATION SO I MAY SEE LIGHT AT THE END OF THIS BLOGGING TUNNEL...the more support I get from you dear reader, the more encouraged I will be to keep blogging away!!!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS.......(and remember--Hanukkah is not The Jewish Christmas--it is about the rights of minorities in the face of overwhelming odds...and yes, that is a bomb she is holding)

you are being completely jewcentric when you say Hanukkah is not The Jewish Christmas. Everyone knows that the truth is Christmas in not the Christian Hanukkah

retract that last comment about Chucky, Paul, you are wrong , and I don't want people to have reason to call you wacky. I actually like you.

Whether you like me or not is not the point-you won't even say who you are...but what is there to retract? I stated a fact--Weikel uses Comcast and a Mac...and? Did I accuse him of anything? No. That's his modus operandi. And if you know so much....well>???

Besides, nobody needs a reason to call me or anyone else wacky--they just do it..but in my case of calling Weikel, "Wacky Weikel", I believe I have demonstrated good cause.Well, he demonstrated it. I just amplified it.
